The Last Roses of Summer

A rose? In January? Unbelievable, but true!

These two have decided not to let go. Granted, they don’t look quite the way they do in summer, but they are persistently hanging on. We’ve never before seen a garden rose at this time of year, but here they are and here they stay. A few dried leaves have decided to keep them company, for the time being at least.

If you still have some flowers in your garden, please leave a comment and tell us about them.

  1. Now you are making me jealous, Angie! It’s extremely cold here and we had more snow here today. Those roses are finally gone. Your 37 degrees seems absolutely balmy in comparison. šŸ™‚

  2. Yes, I have a couple of roses also even though today our low was 37 degrees. A white one and a multicolored one. Also in my kitchen garden are sulfur cosmos that just keep on blooming. I can see them through my kitchen window. But then I live in southern California.
