Book Review: Prayers for Sale by Sandra Dallas

This is a story of the friendship between two women, 86 year old Hennie Comfort who is known for her story telling, and Nit Spindle, married at 17 and a newcomer to Middle Swan Colorado. The year is 1936 when the Great Depression has made life very difficult. Nit notices the “Prayers for Sale” sign on Henny’s fence which is what sparks the beginning of their friendship. Both women love and enjoy quilting so quilting is threaded through the story. That’s one reason for us quilters to enjoy the book, but so is this wonderful story that slowly reveals the secrets both women have. The story will interest you right from the start and keep you interested throughout. Sandra Dallas has created a story we won’t soon forget.
